Fridays are our day. Every week the P5C community tunes in, votes, and decides what makes the cut. These are the songs that earned their spot this week.

The standout of the week is “All That Matters” by 6LACK, Leon Thomas and AZChike. The track comes off 6LACK’s new album “Love Is the New Gangsta,” a record built around fatherhood, healing and radical honesty. The three artists bring different worlds into one room and it works. Brooding R&B, soulful depth and West Coast grit all on the same song. It is the kind of collaboration that feels inevitable once you hear it.

Latto and Doja Cat linked up on “Okayyy,” off Latto’s new project “Big Mama.” It is a toxic reunion anthem with a 90s bounce underneath it, the kind of song that knows exactly what it is and commits fully. Both artists feed off each other and the chemistry keeps it from going too far into sentiment.

Ariana Grande dropped “hate that i made you love me” this week, the lead single off her upcoming album “Petal.” Produced with Max Martin and Ilya, it is a mid-tempo alt-pop and R&B ballad where she sings in a lower register than fans are used to hearing. Woozy, intentional and a little cold. A strong opening statement for a new era.

Young Miko and Destin Conrad closed out the week with “no debo :(” off Miko’s deluxe project “Do Not Disturb: Late Checkout.” The song is bachata-infused and lands on the softer end of Miko’s range, which makes it hit differently coming off the harder-edged tracks on the project. Miko is one of the most important voices in Latin music right now and this record shows why.

“All That Matters” and “TV Off” are not the only reasons AZChike keeps coming up. His ability to show up on records across genres without losing himself is a skill. His presence on the 6LACK track alongside Leon Thomas is another reminder he belongs in those rooms.
